Pediatric House Calls is a collection of medical and parenting advice articles from a pediatrician's "inside" perspective, written in a down to earth, conversational style and punctuated with many examples and stories from years of medical practice and caring for infants, children and adolescents. This section includes articles about "Medical Conditions" – that is, something we're either born with or which doesn't go readily away. - Amblyopia Newborn Lazy Eye is a problem which can cause lifelong "blindness" in one eye if not identified early during infancy. (If found during the newborn series of physical exams it can be entirely prevented.)
- Congenital Dislocated Hips Congenital hip dysplasia can cause lifelong hip and gate problems if not found and corrected early. It is one of the many problems looked for during the newborn "screening" series of exams.
